Presentation College Windsor is a Catholic secondary
school for girls. The College was established upon the
arrival of seven Presentation Sisters from Ireland in 1873
and it continues to be a thriving community based on Gospel
values.
The curriculum of PCW is diverse and dynamic and the
individual talents of each student are respected and
nurtured. The co-curricular program of the College caters for
the needs of all students and provides access to a vast range
of activities that both enhance and educate.
The College enrols students from Years 7 to 12, with the
typical student population being between 650 and 700. This is
an ideal size, retaining a real sense of community where
students know one another and can feel secure within their
environment, while also being large enough to offer a wide
range of subject and extra-curricular choices. There is also
a Boarders' Residence located adjacent to the College, which
has accommodation for 15 students from regional areas of
Victoria and New South Wales.
Presentation College Windsor is proud of its tradition as
a place where the pursuit of academic excellence is coupled
with the teachings of the Christian faith. As one of the more
multicultural schools in Melbourne, PCW offers a rich and
enlivening environment where young people are educated in the
context of an ethos that promotes social justice and
harmony.
PCW enjoys a close working relationship with the
neighbouring boys' college, Christian Brothers' College St
Kilda. Some classes in the Senior School are shared, as are
social activities, resources and, very importantly, the
stories of our two Congregational Founders, Nano Nagle and
Edmund Rice. The strength of the friendship between the two
schools is an asset to students and staff and the ongoing
growth and development of both PCW and CBC.
